Always outside. Always searching. My name is Kimberly (Rotterdam, 1986), and I am always searching for the most beautiful and interesting photos by combining my passion for animals, nature and photography. The interest for animals and nature was there from an early age and as a little girl I could spend hours with insects, reading nature books and going into the forest with my parents to look for materials for e.g. the table of seasons. 

 

From the moment I got my new SLR camera, I have not let go. The smaller cameras and the mobile phone stayed at home and together with my camera and by now several lenses I explore forests, polders and nature reserves. I study ecology, field biology and animal behavior to understand nature even better, to discover and enjoy it to the max.

 

With my camera I try to give and take a look into nature. Especially through the use of close-up/macro photography, there is a lot to discover in the small world around us. Have you ever taken a closer look at a snail, a beetle walking on the sandy paths, or have you ever stood still at an ants nest for observation? No mundane activities but very interesting, and therefore I like to take you with me and show you what can be discovered through the camera. Not only do I use the latest equipment, I also like to go out with the old cameras and lenses that I got from my father and others.
